Day 1: pencil layout
Richard, descendant of Jane Hunt (portrayed in the mural to his right) stopped in to chat.
My very talented friend Maureen assisted me an entire Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Here we see her painting the intricate lettering in record time! (The lettering in question replicates the original Women's Rights Convention announcement published in the July 14, 1848 Seneca County Courier newspaper).
More members of the Jane Hunt clan came in later the same day!
The second piece Maureen assisted with depicts the table on which Elizabeth Cady Stanton drafted The Declaration of Sentiments and includes the first line of the document central to the 1848 Women's Rights Convention.

I took a break from the full figures piece for a few days so I could get back to it with fresh eyes. Instead, I started the large murals of Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton-- bookends to the Women's Rights Convention text. These pieces are a modern representation of etched portraits.
The next step was adding touches of a simple bold four-color palette:
Dark Lavender, Bright Light Blue, Fuchsia, and Light Lime
