Annual Pride Event Designs

Commissioned by: Auburn NY Pride, the board overseeing the Pride celebrations in Auburn, NY

Design Brief: In 2021 the board needed an original T-shirt design that included the Pride flag colors and depicted some people wearing masks to symbolize the perseverance of honoring the Pride even through a global pandemic. The design would be silkscreen printed, so it needed to be simple and color separated. It also needed to also work for the basis of a poster and versions should be easily created for social media posts.

In the following year, the theme was “A Light in Troubled Waters," inspired by many in the LGBTQ community who felt discouraged by continuing legislation that questioned their human rights. The Pride celebration was to be a beacon of light in all of this and the idea of a lighthouse was discussed by members. I was to create the cover of a brochure hand-out, a print file for art prints, and art for pin production for the event.

Scope of Project: In 2021, I created a custom illustrated 6-color print T-shirt design. I reformatted this design for use in printed posters and for use in social media posts. In 2022, I created a large print-ready illustration for the art print. This print was formatted to a square design for pin production. The design was also resized with text added for the brochure .
