Video Store Day Event Marketing Materials Project

Commissioned by: Scarecrow Video, a Seattle, Washington institution and bastion for physical media with the largest movie rental inventory in the United States.

Design Brief: The annual Video Store Day event and the 30th anniversary of the store’s opening was approaching in the same month. They requested a colorful, eye-catching poster to acknowledge these two events. The poster needed to easily convert to a print ad and digital marketing materials . They wanted an original character designed to represent this event in subsequent years.

Scope of Project: I created custom illustrated characters and hand drawn typography. This included a Video Store Day logo design which would be used to represent the event in future years. Deliverables were sized for poster printing, print ads and social media posts. The project continued for three consecutive years with each year having it’s own theme but including similar elements established during the first year.
